3 REASONS WHY WE CHOSE TENCEL™ LYOCELL OVER COTTON

SPACE

Cotton cultivation uses 30 million hectares of land, which could alternatively feed 24 million people. TENCEL™ Lyocell, made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, requires no arable land.

WATER, FERTILIZERS AND GENETIC MANIPULATION

Beech trees used for TENCEL™ Lyocell need minimal water and no artificial irrigation. In contrast, cotton requires significant water and is often irrigated artificially, using up to 10–20 times more water to produce a T-shirt. Additionally, only a small percentage of cotton is organic, while Beech trees used for TENCEL™ Lyocell are naturally GMO- and chemical-free.

FABRIC QUALITIES

TENCEL™ Lyocell absorbs moisture efficiently, often 50% more than cotton, drawing it into the fibers to keep you dry and comfortable longer. The fabric is naturally antimicrobial, reducing bacteria growth, and it remains fresher than cotton. TENCEL™ Lyocell is also softer, with a smooth texture comparable to silk.
