Lyocell, Modal or Viscose?
Share
Here’s the difference and why we choose TENCEL™ Lyocell.
Viscose, modal, and lyocell are all made from wood pulp.
The difference lies in how they’re produced.
VISCOSE
Produced through a process that is typically energy, water, and chemical-intensive.
MODAL
Similar to viscose but generally requires less energy, water, and chemicals during production.
LYOCELL
Produced using a non-toxic solvent in a closed-loop system, which recycles nearly all solvent used.
This process generally requires less water and energy.
TENCEL™ Lyocell
A brand of lyocell fibres by Lenzing, which recovers 99.8% of the solvent used, fibers sourced from controlled or certified origins meeting FSC® or PEFC standards.
Our lounge- underwear are made of TENCEL™ Lyocell.
