YOUR MINDSET SHAPES YOUR REALITY. BUT HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY SHIFT IT?
Share
You’ve probably heard these before:
“Your mindset determines your reality.”
“What you focus on grows.”
“Change your thoughts, change your life.”
Yes, they’re powerful. And yes, we know mindset is key. But the real question is:
How do you actually shift your mindset?
It’s one thing to understand the importance of mindset. It’s another thing entirely to shift the way you think, feel, and respond to the world.
In our experience, there are three key steps when it comes to evaluating your mindset.
Here’s how we see it:
1. AWARENESS
The first step is simple. But not always easy.
You can’t change something you can’t see.
Start by noticing your thoughts, emotions, habits, and patterns. Observe them without judgement. What are the recurring thoughts in your day? How do you react to stress or uncertainty? What stories are you telling yourself?
Awareness opens the door to change. It’s the moment you stop running on autopilot and start becoming conscious.
2. QUESTIONING
Once you see what’s there, it’s time to get curious.
• Why am I thinking this?
• Is this really true?
• Where did this belief come from?
• What are the benefits and costs of holding on to this mindset?
• What emotion is behind this habit or reaction?
This step is not about overanalyzing. It’s about gently disrupting old patterns. So much of what we think isn’t actually ours. It’s inherited, absorbed, or rooted in outdated experiences.
When you start questioning, you loosen the grip of those stories.
3. TRYING ON SOMETHING
This is the experimental part.
Start gently trying on new thoughts, just like you’d try on a jacket in a fitting room. See how it feels. Ask yourself: Is this more aligned with my truth?
Try out new emotions. Yes, you can try on emotions by imagining what confidence, calm, or joy would feel like in your body.
And then take one new action that matches that new mindset. Just one.
This is how shifts happen: slowly, softly, through repetition and small choices. You don’t need to force it. Just keep showing up.
REAL CHANGES ISN'T ALWAYS LOUD
Mindset work isn’t about pretending everything is perfect or forcing positivity. It’s about becoming conscious of what’s running in the background and choosing, over and over again, what you want to feed.
So next time you hear those words, “change your thoughts, change your life”, don’t just nod and scroll on.
Pause.
Notice.
Ask.
Try something new.
That’s how it begins.
